NFL 2013 Season Week 4 Picks
Week 3 record
10-5
Season record
10-5 (I started picks in week 3)
So, I ended up better than I expected last week. I still can’t believe that Eli and the Giants got manhandled like a virgin in prison, but hey, in today’s NFL ya never know, right?
And here’s my week 4 picks!
San Francisco vs. St. Louis
Do I really believe the 49ers will lose 3 in a row? No, but I’m making St. Louis my upset pick of the week, even though my head tells me not to. They were pretty bad last week.
Pick: St. Louis
Baltimore vs. Buffalo
I don’t see how EJ Manuel rights the ship against the Ravens D. Yeah, the Ravens have issues, but I think the Bills have more.
Pick: Baltimore
Cincinnati vs. Cleveland
Brian Hoyer had a decent showing last week in his season debut. Something tells me he’s going to come down to earth against a stingy Bengals D, and he won’t have anywhere near as good a showing.
Pick: Cincinnati
Chicago vs. Detroit
Chicago is the better team, but this has all the signs of a “trap game” for the Bears. Cutler keeps his magic going and Ndamukong Suh should get 2 personal fouls, one of which proves to be costly. As long as the Bears don’t fall over trying to catch a pizza, they should be fine.
Pick: Chicago
New York Giants vs. Kansas City
This game is tough. I really want to see Eli start 0-4. I somehow get the feeling that Coughlin gets his team together this week, but you can bet Ol’ Fat Stache has his team ready with the Giants coming to Arrowhead. Close call here…
Pick: New York
Pittsburgh vs. Minnesota (in London)
So let’s be real, besides my buddy Rob, who really gives a shit about this game? Maybe fantasy owners who see AP going against a craptastic run D in Pittsburgh. I get the sense that the Matt Cassell era begins this week.
Pick: Minnesota
Arizona vs. Tampa Bay
Josh Freeman out, Mike Glennon in. You see this kid?? He’s skinny, clumsy-looking, and overall kinda dopey. I bet he does ok, but I can’t see Palmer and Fitz having as bad of a week this week.
Pick: Arizona
Indianapolis vs. Jacksonville
Jacksonville usually plays Indy pretty tough, but I just can’t see Jacksonville playing ANYONE tough at this point. I’ll pick against them every week until they prove me wrong. Then I’ll probably still pick against them.
Pick: Indianapolis
Seattle vs. Houston
This is going to be a good game. Seattle is due for a loss, and even though Houston didn’t play well last week, I think Watt and the D will give Wilson some fits.
Pick: Houston
New York Jets vs. Tennessee
Geno Smith threw for over 3 bills last week, but he still doesn’t wow me. I get the feeling that the Jets are JUST getting by, while I see Tennessee making improvement. The Jets D will be a good test for Jake Locker.
Pick: Tennessee
Philadelphia vs. Denver
My hatred for the Eagles continues, and I’m not picking Denver just because of that. Can anyone see Denver losing with how well they’re playing right now? The Eagles’ D hasn’t impressed, and Peyton is on a tear.
Pick: Denver
Washington vs. Oakland
This is the week I think RG3 either straightens it out, or the Skins turn to Cousins for a few games. Either way, I still think Matt Flynn sucks, and Oakland is going nowhere.
Pick: Washington
Dallas vs. San Diego
I can see this game going either way. Philip Rivers is so week to week on whether he brings his muscles or a tampon to a game, and Dallas’ D is much improved. I don’t trust Romo to win it for D, in fact, I don’t trust him not to blow it for them either. I’m not a fan of Philip Rivers though, so…..
Pick: Dallas
New England vs. Atlanta
I see this as being the first REAL test for the Patriots. I have a feeling that come Sunday night they’re going to realize that the 3-0 record they hold was against some lesser opponents. I mean, c'mon. Buffalo, the Jets, and Tampa. Combined record 3-6.
Pick: Atlanta
Miami vs. New Orleans
Tannehill has made some vast improvement, and Miami looks like a playoff contender through 3 games. With that said, I can’t see New Orleans dropping one at home on Monday Night Football
