This week, on Thursday, TVD is back for a fifth season. I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to seeing how everyone handles the changes and surprises.
For instance, Katherine is now human because Elena force-fed her the single dose of the cure. There was speculation that the writers were going to make Damon human again, but that seemed too obvious. I have to admit, I wasn’t expecting Katherine. It will be interesting to watch her struggle to get her way, since she won’t be able to hypnotize/beat people to pulps any longer.
Stefan is a doppelganger for Silas, which Silas took advantage of after not dying because Bonnie is an idiot/failure. He locked Stefan in a safe and left him under water, and now he’s running around pretending to be Stefan. Smart money says Damon figures it out first, but maybe it will be Elena. Truthfully I was hoping the whole Silas storyline would die with the end of last season, but the writers had other ideas.
Bonnie is supposed to be dead, but she isn’t really, and she and Jeremy are probably going to rekindle their puppy love. YAWN.
Elena finally admitted her love for Damon (while Stefan eavesdropped, heartbroken), so they’re officially together. Hopefully the plot will be more about action and survival this year, and less about which brother Elena loves more.

Caroline is one of my favorite characters. Klaus, after fabulously cutting off some heads with what must have been a very well made graduation cap, tells her he’s leaving and Tyler will be allowed back into her life because he wants her to be happy. Then he makes some grand romantic statement about being her last love. SWOON. I could care less about the love triangle, the only relationship I want to see is Caroline and Klaus. Of course, with the Originals running off to New Orleans and Klaus having to deal with a pregnant Hayley (UGH), it doesn’t look likely.
Anyway, I predict lots of awesome no matter what happens.
