So today I heard what could possibly be the best news EVER!! Alexander Skarsgard is being eyed to play coveted role of billionaire dominant Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey, which is scheduled to be released in theaters August 2014. I didn’t believe my source, only because I know he has a busy schedule coming up, until I came home and went online to confirm, and confirm I did!
Alexander has said in the past that he was “born to play that part”. In my mind (and fantasies) he so was! He is my Christian Grey. When I watch him on True Blood all I think of is how perfect he is for the role of Christian. His True Blood character, Eric Northman (swoooon) is similar to that of Christian Grey, as they are both moody, dark, dominant (in Eric’s earlier years), GORGEOUS, charming, have beautiful eyes, know how to wear a suit, and they both have a “room of pain”. Alexander Skarsgard also has that talent of expressing how he feels with his eyes (those eyes!). Which is perfect for the part of Christian Grey. With Christian being so closed off from feelings, but having those feelings none the less, having the talent of the expression of the eyes will come a long way in how successful the actor playing the part of Christian will be in portraying that role. In my opinion, it will be all about the eyes in order to let us, the audience, know how he is really feeling about Anastasia (like we don’t know anyway but still).
Since there are a few other contenders being eyed for this role, including Matt Bomer who has a trillion fans petitioning for him, I am not going to get my hopes up too high. But supposedly Alex is on the short list of the top contenders, and I so hope that the role goes to him! I will say that while Alex is my vision of Christian, whomever they choose better have that charm and sex appeal. And swag, because I always imagined Christian had some crazy ass swag!
