Kyle’s Week 8 picks

By: Kyle Kettner

Week 7 record

9-6

Season record

44-30 (I started picks in week 3)

Another average week for me last week.  This week will see a few new (and retread) starting quarterbacks, and a slew of new players trying to step up to fill the shoes of injured players.  Last week was crazy with all the injuries, and we’ll see if it affects the picks this week.

And here’s my week 8 picks!

Carolina at Tampa Bay

Tampa is going to get a win at some point this season.  I think. Anyway, I can’t imagine it is going to be against a Carolina defense on national TV without your best RB.  Vincent Jackson needs to have a bounce back game, and the Bucs might make it close, but I think Carolina takes it.

Pick: Panthers

Dallas at Detroit

I can’t bring myself to pick Detroit.  I don’t necessarily think that Dallas runs away with this game, but Schwartz is a douche, Stafford is a pansy, and Bush is a cheatin’ bastard.

Megatron should have a big day, but I don’t see who else will.

Pick: Cowboys

Cleveland at Kansas City

Jason Campbell is now the Browns 3rd starter this season.  They realistically should have gone to him when Hoyer went down.  I think he plays ok, but not well enough to take out KC in KC.

Pick: Chiefs

Miami at New England

I think New England comes out strong after dropping a winnable game to the Jets last week.  I’m still waiting for Tannehill to make that jump to being a better QB, and for some reason I think he does it this week.  IF his line can keep him upright.

Pick: Miami

Buffalo at New Orleans

CJ Spiller is banged up and the Bills are coming off a good win against Miami.  I think Brees and co. come out strong at home after the bye week.  Although it IS the Bills, and I’m picking against them, so they’ll probably find a way to screw me.

Pick: Saints

New York Giants at Philadelphia

Mike Vick is back for the Eagles, and I expect some rust.  The Giants are coming off a horrible win against a horrible team, but I’m making this my Upset Pick of the Week.  I DO hate rooting for that douchenozzle Eli though.

Pick: Giants

San Francisco at Jacksonville

Oh, Jacksonville.  I actually am starting to feel sorry for you.  This team is remarkably better with Henne and Blackmon in the line-up, but that isn’t saying much at all.

Pick: 49ers

New York Jets at Cincinnati

Both teams coming off wins, both teams have QB’s that are hit or miss, and both teams have a decent defense.  I can see this game being a 17-13 game, and I think AJ Green makes the difference in this one.

Pick: Bengals

Pittsburgh at Oakland

I don’t know why, but I can see Oakland winning this game.  I’ve never been a fan of Terrelle Pryor, but I’m finding myself liking what the Raiders are doing.  Shit, did I just write that? Someone check my head.

Pick: Raiders

Washington at Denver

Does anyone believe the Redskins can beat the Broncos in Denver a week after Peyton loses his homecoming? Not me.

Pick: Broncos

Atlanta at Arizona

Atlanta is starting to make that run to get back in playoff contention.  I don’t see a geriatric Carson Palmer thwarting that.  Arizona’s defense is still good, and Atlanta doesn’t have a huge receiving threat, but they are still a better team that the Cards.

Pick: Falcons

Green Bay at Minnesota

Surprise, surprise.  Now that the Packers lead the division and the Vikings are dead last with Christian “I still suck at life” Ponder starting again, NOW Greg Jennings said he was misinterpreted with his earlier comments toward the Pack and Aaron Rodgers.  Man, you’re a douche. Stick with how you feel you pansy.  Oh, and good luck this week.  You’ll need it seeing as how the only way you win this game is if AP goes for 225 and 3 scores.

Pick: Packers

Seattle at St. Louis

Hmmm….let me see.  One of, if not the best, defense in the league going up against Kellen Clemons.  Remember, Kellen Clemons couldn’t even give Mark Sanchez a run for a starting QB job.  Now I can see why the Rams called Brett Favre. A 75 year old Favre is probably better than Clemons.

Pick: Seahawks
