Honestly, I started off loving this show and week after week that love has just sort of been…. twindling.
In Ep 5 of course the doctor chose to leave her children at the bus station (she left them money and a note that they should leave & their parents would catch up with them… day late & a dollar short as they’d already chosen not to catch the initial bus….) and return to her home to save her husband, who Carlisle shot.
Sandrine was grabbed by a group of people she apparently owes a lot of money to. Someone named Victor, who lets her go giving her another chance to get the money.
Even though Jake & his sister got away on the next train, Jake couldn’t resist calling home and Kramer wouldn’t let him talk to his parents, thus making Jake think all the more that his parents are dead. Sandrine returns to the house demanding $50k, presumably for Victor, after Ellen saves her cheating husband’s life, Carlisle takes her to a location and makes her bury Nurse Angela (who we’d been hoping that Archer had kept alive but, nope….) and Boyd (who’d showed up in the middle of Brian’s kitchen surgery) is broken up with by Morgan in order to save his life.
Carlisle also sets Archer up to be arrested by informing cops of the trunk full of weapons he has in his car…. that should make Archer super happy.
In Ep 6: Ellen’s sister surprises them by showing up to their home & walking in to a gun in her face by Carlisle, explained away (as does the rest of the family thru the rest of the show) by saying they are there for the family’s protection since Ellen’s performing the President’s surgery. We find out that her sister had just completed a stint in a psychiatric facility, and by the end of the episode when she figures out that Carlisle & his cronies aren’t who they say they are, Ellen has her recommitted for paranoia, in an act that - - I get it - it’s to save her life but - -what a low blow.
Kramer helps Sandrine get the money she owes Victor by letting her in on a little underground big money poker action (she’s the “hot dealer”) and we find out she has a son that was being held as ransom.
Ellen gets questioned again about Nurse Angela’s disappearance, this time regarding why she failed to mention her conversation with Drunk Patron 1 who told her Angela left with a tall, black man. This time, however, Carlisle was brought in on the questioning, and even made her seem somewhat suspicious (only so that the Captain wouldn’t do it he later explains…)
Since it’s out now that Morgan is pregnant, Ellen has her see a doctor to confirm (who does) but who also notices Morgan’s bruises and the cut on her back containing the tracking chip so she calls DCFS about possible abuse. At the same time, Archer’s lawyer shows up at Secret Service claiming that his client has info on Nurse Angela’s disappearance.
So, as usual, we are left to wonder how hot Dylan McDermott is going to get himself out of the latest batch of issues that have arisen in these last two episodes and we’re not one step closer to any sort of resolution to the story.
Have a tutti fuckin frutti day,
-BZ
