The Blacklist 30 Day Challenge: Days 1 - 10

Regarding #30 day blacklist challenge, here’s days 1-10 for me.  Days 11-23 will be posted shortly.

 #1 Introduce Yourself and share your thoughts about the first time you watched the Blacklist and what made you continue to watch. 

I’m Baby Z, co-admininstrator and writer for thetvtimes.co.vu.  The moment I saw the first promo for The Blacklist, discovering James Spader was the lead character - I knew it’d be a must-see.  I love pretty much everything about the show, but he’s definitely my main reason for obsessively returning episode after episode. 

#2 Who is your favorite female character?

Ugh….this is a tough one because there’s really not many regular female cast members beyond Lizzie and Malik.  While I think the person portraying her is great, I don’t trust Malik- so it’s definitely not her and I WANT to love Lizzie but her on and off again disdain towards Red, stupidity regarding her husband, and overall just not being bad-ass enough for me (yet?) make it really difficult for me to not snark on her regularly.  She definitely up’d her game in the last 2 episodes of the 2013 portion of the first season so we’ll see.  So I’m going to go with Gina Zanetakos, even though we’ve only seen her in 1 episode (so far?)

#3 Who is your favorite male character?

The almighty Red Reddington (I know, this surprises precisely zero people.)

#4 Who is your least liked character?

Another tough one as I can’t stand Tom Keen or Agent Ressler almost equally.  Tom wins by a hair.

#5 Share a scene that made you laugh.

Virtually any scene that Red is handing Ressler’s ass to him on a silver platter is particularly gratifying to me.  I love the scene when Red asks if Ressler slipped on a banana peel.

#6 Share a scene that made you cry.

Hands down the 2nd to the last episode of the show so far when Dembe was on his knees, the entire interaction between he & Red had me bawling.

#7 What would you consider to be the most embarrassing moment on The Blacklist?

Most embarrassing….. hmm… really I think that the FBI in the show is pretty embarrassing overall, between their lack of knowledge, their inability to take care of almost everything so far (at least without Red’s help anyway), and their general ineptitude is pretty cringe-worthy.

#8 Share something you wish hadn’t happened in the Blacklist.

The entire torture scene when Anslo had Red captive was really difficult for me to watch, witnessing Red being chained up, beaten, injected with that drug, etc..,  It was horrifying watching an adored character in such a terrifying situation.  (I also felt similarly when The Stewmaker had Lizzie captive too…)

#9 Share something you wish had happened in the Blacklist.

Well, I’d like to say either that we got confirmation on who Red is to Lizzie or that we discovered Tom’s real identity, but at the same time if they’d revealed either of those details so soon into the show it probably would have been disappointing as well.  So…. let’s go with I wish Lizzie was more leery of her husband than she appears to be.

#10 Share the character you find the most relatable and why.

Probably Red in that he pretty much proves that most people he’s surrounded by are morons.  Hugely relatable to me ;)
