Klaus is concerned that Davina has escaped, and wants to know whether she is a friend or foe – understandably, since she’s the only person who’s been able to spank him in battle since Elijah almost ripped his heart out during the moonstone ritual.

Marcel is worried, everyone is worried. The elder witch (Agnes) was murdered by Elijah, so they can’t complete The Harvest, meaning Davina is safe enough. The concern is, what will she do to them? Marcel wants a promise that they will reason with her and not hurt her. Klaus smiles and goes along but no one believes for a second he won’t eliminate Davina if she crosses him.
Rebekah is furious with Marcel for choosing allegiance to Klaus over his love for her. She lurks at the edges of conversations, looking like a woman scorned. She has plans of her own, to gain Davina’s trust and punish the men for their “bros before hos” mentality.
Honestly, there are too many all-powerful characters at play. Klaus can’t be killed. Davina is unbeatable. Elijah and Rebekah are both unkillable as well. Marcel CAN be killed, but I kind of doubt they’ll go that route because he was cast as Klaus’s big enemy on the show. (Also Marcel is more eye candy for the female viewers, and the CW really enjoys showing off their eye candy.)
The writers try to add intrigue by having everyone double-cross everyone else, but it’s starting to feel tired in my opinion. I mean, no one can kill anyone, so the betrayals end up being anti-climactic. The big bads are left to play juvenile games because there aren’t really any vulnerable characters to hurt. Camille is human, but won’t be hurt because Klaus has feelings for her. (BAD KLAUS! CAROLIIIINE.)

A few very cool things did happen in this episode. Hayley teamed up with Sophie Devereaux to betray Elijah. She read his journals and revealed the burial place of his once-love, Celeste DuBois, so that Sophie can use the bones to gain power and finish Davina off. Meanwhile, Elijah and Marcel interpret Davina’s sketches as a premonition of some kind of great evil, and after putting them together like a puzzle Elijah sees Celeste’s face. Hayley panics and calls Sophie, but Sophie has just uncovered Celeste and isn’t taking calls. (I think it was pretty lazy of Elijah to bury someone he loved so much without a casket. I mean, caskets seem like a big deal to the Originals, but it looks like he just dumped her body in the ground…it isn’t like they don’t have the means to provide proper burials for their loved ones, is all I’m getting at.)
On the other hand, there’s plenty of great evil in New Orleans already, and it’s possible the addition of yet another all-powerful badass will just thicken the mess. I hope Celeste kills Sophie Devereaux, who is by far one of the most annoying characters, and I’m looking forward to Elijah’s torment at seeing his old flame.
