One of my favorite things about James Spader’s portrayal of Reddington is how effective he is at saying SO MUCH with just a look. It’s little nuances like this that make him all the more brilliant.

Kissy kissy, bitch:

Let’s face it, Alan Alda’s going to be given some great quotes. I’ll try my best to capture the best ones here!

“We know what you have, Ray, and we know what will happen to it if you turn up dead. So we do nothing, we let you live. And in exchange we trust that our secret, remains secret.” (NOTE SINGULAR USE OF SECRET)
–Fisk to RR about 5 minutes before Fisk insinuates they do not know what Red has in place were he to be killed (see below)

“Just know this: you were walking in the park this morning. We could’ve taken you then. Instead we dragged you from safety & security of the bed you’re now sharing with…new friends. Why would we do a thing like that? To make it abundantly clear - there’s no where you can go. There’s no one you can trust to keep you from us.”
–Fisk to RR
“If you kill him, it could trigger whatever he has in place.”
–Fisk to Anslo, ordering him not to kill Reddington

I am over the moon excited for Alan Alda’s involvement in this show.

Think there’s any correlations to be made between the “Apple Eating Surveillance” guy and Tom Keen being a teacher?
(Kaplan, by the way, is another fairly recognizable word in the teaching world….)
Chime in!!

1. Was Reddington telling the truth when Lizzie asked him point blank if he was her father? If so, the question still remains who he is to her and if not, why lie about it? Because of Tom for some reason? Because it wasn’t the right way for him to tell her that? To protect her from something/someone?
2. Who is Ms. Kaplan to Reddington?
3. What is it that Red “has” that’s kept Alan Alda’s character & his cohorts from killing RR anytime they want, especially since finding out he’s working with the FBI? What is it that the FBI would discover about Mr. Fitch & his ring by Reddington’s death?
4. Who is the mole in the FBI? (My money’s on Ressler or Malik…)
5. Why did Ressler give up the code to unlock the containment chamber, being under direct orders from Cooper not to and supposedly hating RR as much as he does?
6. Is it coincidence that Ressler and Red have the same VERY RARE blood type?
7. Could Ressler’s ex-fiance Aubrey have any significance other than the obvious? What about her NEW fiance?
EDITED TO ADD:
8. Just before RR killed Anslo, Anslo referred to Keen as Lizzie, threatening to torture & kill her. That I know of, Anslo was unaware of her name, at least with regards to “Lizzie”…………..hmmmmm? Just bad writing or……..?
9. Any correlations between the “Apple Eating Man,” Ms. Kaplan (commonly known company in the education field), and Tom being a teacher?
I do not know how, when I barely had the patience to endure a 1 week break, I will contain myself over the next six weeks. January 13th cannot come soon enough.
Have a TFF day,

I’m still too traumatized at every scene last night similar to this one:

Even slouched back, chillin’ - he makes a suit look good!!!

1. Why was Red so insistent/determined to save Ressler’s life. At one point I almost got a father/son feeling between the two - now THAT would be a twist. They did have the same very rare blood type.
2. Anslo knew about RR’s immunity deal with the FBI - who else knows and what will this mean for his ability to continue assisting?
3. How’d Anslo know about RR’s deal? Double agent in FBI?? The “songbird” Red spoke about perhaps?
4. Red’s extensive knowledge of medical skills: blood transfusion, cutting into his leg to cauterize his artery, etc.., - - how?
5. The fire… who caused it, is this the one that caused scar, who was the man holding the bunny in her room?
PARTIALLY answered earlier question: Ressler had a fiance who left him due to his 5-year obsession with finding Reddington

By: Baby Z
“Never let it be said that I value a Zenga tie over human life, even yours.”
–RR just before using his tie to attempt to save Ressler’s life. A quick Google search informed me these ties start at about $200.
“You know Anslo, I’m looking at you and I gotta say I’m really surprised…with the access you now have to top notch plastic surgeons why you haven’t done something, ANYTHING, about that horrific scar. I mean how do you wake up at that staring back at you in the mirror every morning. But you know what? It’s not the scar, it’s really the eye.”
–RR to Anslo, clearly trying to get under his skin
“It’s probably the only thing that saved your life that week, me switching ammo.”
–RR regarding his failed attempt killing Anslo after shoot him in the head
“So naturally I did what I always did, and beat you. And you did what you always did - got beaten by me.”
–RR to Anslo
“That .45 might as well be a spit-straw.”
–RR after Anslo’s attempt to shoot the confinement room he & Ressler are locked in
“And you thought we had nothing in common, there’s only 2% of us you know.”
–RR’s response to Ressler informing him that his blood type is B Neg
“The concept of a last stand sounds so heroically romantic doesn’t it Donald, but there’s a good reason we didn’t see what happened to Butch and the Sundance Kid - because being riddled with bullets and left to scorch & rot under a Bolivian sky does not a sequel make - and if you’ve surmised nothing about me by now, know this - I’m gonna be around for the sequel.”
–RR to Ressler - damn right you are RR!
“Oh come on Donald, think of how much smarter you’ll be afterwards.”
–RR referring to Ressler’s now that Ressler will have RR’s blood due to transfusion
“Allies today, enemies tomorrow - the world is a complex place, further complicated by man’s fickle nature.”

By: A (slightly) less hysterical than i was last night Baby Z
Ok. So now that I have my bearings back a bit from last night’s (still!) INDESCRIBABLE Blacklist episode, and I’ve come to terms with the fact that we have 6 more GRUELING days left before part 2 airs on Monday (and is the last episode until 2014 - WTF ARE WE GOING TO DO BLACKLISTERS???) I feel like I can perhaps a little better convey the utter spectacularness (?) of Episode 9 than I was able to last night, which was…not at all.
I cannot remember another TV show leaving me as breathtaken, heartbroken, almost hyperventilating from the conflicting feelings of the show just plain fucking kicking ass in every imaginable way possible and yet being completely overwhelmed with everything that was packed into 41 minutes last night. The last 10 minutes? Ohhhhhhhh my heart…..

(The only thing I can think of that came close was the True Blood episode when Eric took off flying into the air to locations unknown, leaving Pam devastated, after the vamps were saved from vamp prison….)
Perhaps this will give you an idea of just how incredible Ep 9 was last night: the quotes listed in this Part ONE edition of “Kick Ass Reddington Quotes” article? All occurred before the show hit the 10-minute mark!
Without further ado - - this week’s Part ONE “Kick Ass Reddington Quotes - Anslo Garrick:
"Donald! There you are!! I told you I would’ve picked you up at the airport!”
–RR’s unusually overzealous greeting when Ressler surprisingly walked into the bar RR was at in Munich
“The poor fellow has to walk a terrible tight rope every single day - I feel obliged to get him drunk every once in awhile so I invited him down - to celebrate!”
–RR’s toast regarding Ressler

“My plane’s faster.”
–RR being the BAD ASS THAT HE IS!!
“Why am I in handcuffs Harold, you’re violating our arrangement.”
–RR to Cooper
“That condition is a constant.”
–RR’s response to Ressler about there being an imminent threat to Red’s life
“With all due respect, if the intel were worth having? Then I would have it.”
–RR to Malik’s offer to show him transcripts regarding Hilton Wells’ association with the Egyptians
“He needs me content. Land-locked. So he fed you phony intel to trigger your security protocol and now you’ve done exactly as he wished. He got you to bring me here so that he could attack THIS facility.”

Keep your eyes peeled later (or possibly tomorrow) for Part 2 of this week’s Kick Ass Reddington Quotes - the remainder of the show has some of his best quotes to date.
Also? LOVE:

With all my achin’ breakin’ Spader-lovin’ heart,
