The Blackist: This is Fucking Bullshit
You all know just how deep my love for The Blacklist goes… but… between the 6 week hiatus over Christmas, only to return in January for 3 weeks, then take another 3 week hiatus due to the Olympics, come back with ONE SHOW last week and yet, no new episode last night?
Seriously… it’s getting to be ridiculous and something fans don’t put up with for long. Same goes for having too may unanswered questions.
The Blacklist: Kickass Reddington Quotes (S1:E12) The Alchemist
“He’s killed women, children… infants if need be.” -RR to Lizzie about the latest Blacklist target, The Alchemist, but more importantly another example of the show’s seemingly repeated theme of helping women and children, which I believe will be a major (if not THE major) plot line that ties the show together, both with regards to Reddington’s past & what happened to his family, Lizzie’s past, Red’s interest in her, who mostly comprises Red’s Blacklist, what drives him and why, his motivation behind everything he does….even Dembe was a victim of human trafficking when he was younger and was saved by Reddington from The Courier.
“I’ve also included a couple of my favorite Richard Pryor records, I want to try to inject a little levity into the proceedings, I mean Julian looks so crabby all the time.” –RR regarding his Tibetan Singing Bowl gift containments
“If you find The Alchemist, you have a chance to resurrect the dead.” –RR to Lizzie
“Ahh, the Germans…. despite the headlines, they’re still the best at keeping an eye on their fellow man.” –RR to researcher
The Blacklist: Frederick Barnes vs. The Good Samaritan
I’ve been toying with the thought of writing an article comparing sympathizing more with the Good Samaritan than with Frederick Barnes, considering both of them committed their crimes out of some variation of vindication of someone who needed intervening help.
It’s not because Frederick killed more people in his quest to find a cure for his son’s disease whereas the Good Samaritan only inflicted the abuse received by their abusers ON their abusers…there’s something there that’s…. deeper that I can’t seem to put my finger on with regards to why I backed the Good Samaritan’s cause moreso than Frederick Barnes’.
Anyone else have any thoughts on this and do you think I should do an article on the subject?

The Blacklist: The Mole (?)
Well, I’ve thought so all along and NOW THIS F-ING SHOW is once again making me doubt myself. Dammit.

The Blacklist: No Caption Needed for this Awesomeness
The Blacklist: Kickass Reddington Quotes - (S1:E11) The Good Samaritan
“I want you to tell me about your friend - the man with the apple.” (We now know the people monitoring the Keen household are not working for Red….)
“You have such a pretty face. And a paramedic. What a shame.”
“I don’t know about serial killers, but i do know about torture, and there is no ‘one size fits all.’ If you really want to hurt someone you need to tailor your attacks specifically to that person. Perhaps the killers’ methods, the injuries he inflicts, tell you less about him and more about his victims.”
“Oh, yes, Theodore, we’re going to talk alright.”
“Honestly, I don’t understand you Theodore. With all the business you do and you’re still funneling the money thru your night source..paying your contracts with 5’s and 10’s because you’re still too cheap to pay the commission for clean cash.”
“First time I ever smoked a cigar was with Marnie Peterson in 5th grade..funny little bat-faced girl - I adored her.”
“There’s been a nasty bit of business, blood shed…lives lost… modicum of torture…”
The interaction between Red and Aram when Reddington was testing/deciding whether Aram was the mole was just too brilliant to fully do justice to by typing the words. You Blacklisters know the scene of which I speak. Epic.
“Janice if you don’t stop your yammering I’m going to have to shoot thru this door, which will be a shame because I won’t have any idea what I’m shooting at.”
“If you would have come to me, I would have helped you. We could have avoided all this.” –RR to Newton just before killing him
“I’ll take care of your family, whatever they need.”
“My house is clean. And yours….*shakes head* is not. The deficit that I found in my organization could not have supplied all the knowledge required for the incursion to take place. That would’ve been supplied by someone with far greater access. Therefore we’re back where we began: me speaking with you.”
FAVORITE QUOTE OF THE EPISODE: “No. I’m going to find somebody else and kill them." –RR in response to Aram asking whether Red was going to kill him. Bad. Ass.

The Blacklist: It’s MALIK!! It’s Malik, It’s Malik, It’s MALIK!!
The Blacklist: Reddington’s Hats
The Blacklist: Nasty Bit of Business
The Blacklist - THE WAIT IS ALMOST OVER!!
10 hours and 15 minutes to be exact (at least - right at this moment haha…. now it’s probably 10 hours and 14 minutes.) But you get the idea - you’re all feeling the same anticipation and excitement as I am that the wait is so close to being over until tonight’s new episode us. Us Blacklisters can hardly contain ourselves… and knowing you feel the same is much of the reason I love you guys, you GET IT.
TONIGHT!!! –BZ
Very interesting theory!!!! I was previously hoping Tom Keen was #1 on the Blacklist but I might just be changing my opinion on this matter.
James Spader always has been, continues to be, and will remain one of Hollywood’s sexiest (in both looks and personality) men in history. This is not up for debate. :)

30 Day Blacklist Challenge - 26, 27, 28
Day #26 What was your least liked episode on the Blacklist?
I love them all, so I suppose any time there’s a “last” episode just prior to any length of time longer than a week would be my least favorites ;)
Day #27 Share your favorite character entrance.
Well obviously Reddington’s entrance, walking into the FBI, announcing himself to the guard, and positioning himself on his knees with his hands behind his head before anyone even knew who he was was just epic. Also the way Anslo and his team infiltrated the FBI’s “secret location” was pretty exciting.
Day #28 Share the reason you are proud to be apart of the Blacklist fandom.
I’m a fan not only of brilliantly written characters (especially antagonists) but of equally as brilliant actors that do the writing justice. James Spader epitomizes an actor that knows how to deliver a line, hell even just an expression sometimes, with perfection. I’m proud to be a part of any group that appreciates a snarky 1-liner or a look in ways that fly over many people’s heads. The fellow Blacklist fans I know in fandom world (and IRL) really “get” the brilliant writing & execution in the show. Plus anyone who’s as obsessed with Spader as I am is all good in my book :)

AND CAN WE JUST STOP FOR A MOMENT AND ACKNOWLEDGE HOW THE TEAM KNEW MENTIONING LIZZIE BEING DETAINED WOULD MAKE RED TRAVEL FROM GERMANY TO THE STATES NO QUESTIONS ASKED
The moment you go from YES! to NONONONO because you know, you just know that one day somebody will use that weakness against Red in a way that will let everything Anslo Garrick did appear to be child’s play…
The Adversary will use Red’s love for Lizzie not realizing Liz is his daughter and then Red will say “no, she’s your daughter” and all hell will break loose.
Or is Red using someone else’s love for her to use towards his own agenda/advantage somehow? Hmmmm… cool shit to ponder!
